Make pending projects accessible.
I have submitted a new project and upon submission, was notified that I'd be informed of its acceptance into the site in a couple of weeks. I haven't been notified, and would like either a progress review or something to let me know it hasn't been lost/deleted entirely. Thanks...

Add a site map
I think we should add a link to the site map somewhere in the header since I always recommend new members to take a look at it if they can't find something in particular. This would have to be developed to incorporate the new nav categories.

I'd rather see newsfeed about users I've added.
This is my 3rd time on TIG and I still cant really decipher whats going on. So much info is thrown at me about topics I havent expressed interest in.
I'd rather see newsfeed and updates about organisations and users that I've expressed interest in or added.
Feeling totally overwhelmed
Status: under reviewAre you referring to the homepage feeds? These are feeds generated by all users on TakingITGlobal and aren't geared toward anyone in particular. This is a great way to get involved in new items and opportunities that you might have otherwise missed.
On the other hand your MyTIG feed (http://my.tigweb.org) is geared toward you and your interests. We base that feed on users you have added and the resources and issues you selected in your profile.

add instant chat functionality to TIG messenger
TIG could allow people to communicate instantly through TIG messenger. This will help a lot with collaboration on projects.
alternatively, we could use one chat service - msn, FB, googlechat or skype and have people's TIG contacts automatically enlist them as friends on that.

Strip down TIG, wayyyy too many links.
I KNOW there is some amazing content on here, but in searching for stuff on Somalia, my motivation dwindled and i definatly lost interest because of the sheer ammounts of choices i had to make.

decrease the size of the header.
About half of the first page is the Menu and the Logos. It'd be very much practical if it be zipped and packed a little. (Web 2.0 might help for some features like languages or optional menu)

translate all the site content from English to French i.e.
On the TIG site, if you browse through the english platform, you will not notice any untranslated content. However, if you turn the TIG site into French for example, you can find some untranslated content (still in English).

add sorting options in 'opportunities' so recent jobs r 1st
add sorting options on the jobs/internships/scholarships etc. results page so that we can browse the most recent jobs first. Add a 'yearly' option to the 'date' menu so that positions with no date ('yearly') will not be filtered out.
